A CLICHE: I’M GOING CRAZY!
it’s one of those days when before the start of a big happening—like opening of classes—I
seem to be lost. I mean, I know what i’m going to do but I’m waiting for someone to tell me what to do,
really. I don’t want to be jolted to doing something, a requirement or what, that we teachers have to do to be able
to be enabled to teach for the semester in the senior high. I feel like up to now, the senior high teachers are still feeling
their way into this government imposed educational system. None of us have been through grades 11 and 12 so we really have
no idea what this balderdash is all about. The Philippine educational scheme of 4th year high school have never been better
when out of the blue, our leaders dropped this K-12 on us as if we could adjust to it in a matter of one year! sorry you disappoint
you, Mr President but this isn’t working.
Take for instance in this university I’m in, teaching senior high, our first graduates of the grade 12 curriculum,
are complaining why they are still taking the same subjects in grades 11 and 12 in college! it’s like they are having
a major educational deja vu! you hear them complain, “What? I know this stuff already!? why are we going through
this again?” “Aren’t we supposed to get on with our majors in college?” This is really
crazy!
I’m a parent too and my girl also graduated with the first batch of grade 12s but she didn’t enroll
for intersemester classes and that’s why she hasn’t gone through this debacle in the scholastic programme
of college.I’ll still have to wait and see if she gets a whopper of a surprise one of these days.
But like what I’m saying, K-12 is a very unnecessary burden to parents and school kids alike. I personally hate
what the government has done to our perfectly working arrangement of more than two years back.
With the way things are done in this country, I don’t believe that the Filipinos will ever rise from the condition
it is in now, where the rich are getting richer and the poor is getting poorer. I don’t believe in the Filipino
leadership. I am not a skeptic, in fact i’m a positive thinker and I am 101% positive that the Philippines will
forever be poor nation.
Just look at the lack of discipline among the citizenry. Everybody seems to be impatient. What’s the rush about?
why are you in a hurry to go to your graves? I’m wishing that Duterte won’t push through with his war
on drugs. Let the drug addicts die! We have enough Filipinos to go around. If all these drug dealers and pushers die of their
addiction, good riddance, we’ll have lesser mouths to feed and the country will be depopulated, more space for everybody.
Not like what we have today, traffic congestions, jam-packed public transports, LRTs, MRTs getting busted cuz of the overloaded
cars. what a sh*t! and added to the traffic, the unruly jeepney drivers, bus drivers, tricycle drivers, and “pajak”
drivers trying to be kings of the roads! The Philippines is going to the pigs!
My one huge regret of which I don’t know who to blame is: I was born in this miserable country. Honestly, I
don’t see any redeeming grace for this country of islands. I want to get out! but where would i go? China? Japan?
Korea? I hear Korea is a cool place…maybe I’ll go there…maybe.
Maybe.
